On 9-10 October 2025 the eFTI4ALL Project’s Work Package 2 (eFTI implementation) members gathered at the GBK Trusted Partner GmbH office in Ingelheim (Germany) for a focused session dedicated to advancing project pilots, interoperability, and future planning. Special focus was on economic operator pilots and first eFTI platforms.

The agenda covered key areas including ongoing pilots and demonstrations, business processes and performance insights, and specific technical actions related to testing and interoperability topics. The DLK Testbed (developed in project) featured prominently as an essential tool for testing and validating eFTI applications in a controlled environment. But also the Luxembourg, French and German gate had already contact with some platforms.

In addition, during the meeting, partners shared encouraging updates on the status of Economic Operator (EO) pilots. Several companies are already actively testing integrations between upcoming eFTI platforms and their ERP/TMS systems, with many platforms also connected to eFTI Gates. Positive feedback was received regarding the DLK testbed, which continues to provide a valuable environment to conduct eFTI testing and validation.

Discussions highlighted the value of these pilots as real-world test cases offering insight into how eFTI can be integrated with existing business processes. Looking ahead, beneficiaries who have yet to activate their pilots are expected to do so soon, while those already running pilots will progress towards official and operational environments.

The session also explored the planning of future eFTI4ALL pilot activities, covering key topics such as:

  • Gates and their role in data exchange
  • Platforms supporting eFTI services
  • Multi-modal transport integration
  • Opportunities for collaboration with other related projects
  • Create a list with documents, which are important for the competent authorities, which possibly could be covered in eFTI (list with the link to the legal request)
  • A special task for waste – dangerous and non-dangerous waste
  • Collaboration between eFTI4EU, eFTI4ALL and eFTI4LIVE projects

This focused meeting marks an important milestone, reinforcing the collaborative commitment to making eFTI implementation a success and accelerating the digital transformation of freight transport across Europe. Based on this experience in Ingelheim we all have seen the importance of these intensive F2F meeting. All participants agreed, that this meetings in the WP2 should continue with minimum 4 meetings  in 2026 or more, if necessary.
