On Thursday 13th March 2025, the Cluster for Logistics Luxembourg organized a dedicated conference on electronic documents and the evolving requirements for logistics operators. The event focused on two key digital solutions set to transform the transport sector: electronic Consignment Notes (eCMR) and electronic Freight Transport Information (eFTI).
Bringing together industry professionals, technology providers, and regulatory experts, the conference offered valuable insights into how digital documentation can improve efficiency, compliance, and sustainability in freight transport.
Rudy Hemeleers, from 51Biz Luxembourg, provided an overview of the upcoming eFTI Regulation. As a member of the eFTI Expert Team and a key contributor to both the eFTI4EU (2023-2026) and eFTI4ALL (2024-2028) projects, he highlighted the regulatory expectations and the steps that Member States and industry players must take to prepare.
Alongside regulatory insights, the event showcased practical digital solutions to help companies transition towards fully electronic transport documentation:
- Gulliver’s eCMR Solution: Paolo Lazzaroni, Account Manager at Gulliver, presented how their platform supports the digitalization of transport documents, ensuring compliance with eCMR requirements.
- Business Readiness for Digital Transformation: Florian Grova, Director of Hamlet Consulting Luxembourg, outlined the necessary operational and structural changes companies must undertake to integrate digital freight documentation effectively.
