The eFTI4ALL initiative was in the spotlight this autumn as CERTH took part in two major industry gatherings in Athens, engaging with professionals from across the supply chain, logistics, and transport innovation ecosystem.
During the Supply Chain & Logistics – Truck & Van Expo 2025 / Logi.c 2025, held from 18 to 20 October, CERTH hosted an exhibition booth and contributed to the discussions on digital transformation in freight transport. Speaking at a panel session, Zisis Maleas, Research Associate at CERTH-HIT, presented the ongoing implementation of the electronic Freight Transport Information (eFTI) system and explained why it is becoming a crucial enabler for greener supply chains. He highlighted its impact on data availability, visibility, and traceability; its role in supporting multimodal optimisation and modal shift; and its ability to reduce administrative and operational inefficiencies. He also pointed to the Greek deployment of eFTI—developed by CERTH–HIT in close cooperation with the Ministry of Transport—as a leading example of how digital tools can accelerate the green transition in freight operations.
Just a few weeks later, on 10 November, CERTH joined the SOLUTIONS Conference at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. Zisis Maleas contributed to a panel on supply chain networks, cost structures, and service-level optimisation, where he discussed how the eFTI digital information layer can support better logistics planning. He outlined how harmonised data, real-time information flows, and improved traceability help reduce uncertainty, strengthen cost-to-serve analysis, and inform more resilient network design strategies—ultimately helping organisations balance operational efficiency with high-quality service levels.
These two events offered valuable opportunities to connect with the Greek logistics community and highlight how eFTI4ALL continues to support a more transparent, efficient, and sustainable freight system.
