On 31 March 2025, the Danish Road Traffic Authority (Trafikstyrelsen) hosted its second national dialogue meeting, this time focusing on the implementation of the eFTI Regulation. Organised as part of Denmark’s efforts within the eFTI4ALL project, the event brought together public authorities, IT experts, and key industry stakeholders to discuss the country’s roadmap toward electronic freight transport information.

Held in Copenhagen, the meeting began with a comprehensive update on the status of Denmark’s eFTI implementation. Trafikstyrelsen, together with the Danish Police and the Danish Accreditation Fund (DANAK), provided updates on technical and legal preparations. OptimumIT, a consulting partner, shared results from a preliminary analysis that examined economic impacts, system requirements, and stakeholder readiness.

The conversation then shifted toward practical implementation challenges and opportunities. Representatives from Danske Speditører, ITD (International Transport Denmark), and project partner Ahola Digital (Ahola Group) presented industry perspectives on how to ensure systems are accessible, compliant, and user-friendly—especially for smaller operators. Topics such as legal clarity, system interoperability, and ease of integration into existing logistics platforms were central to the discussion.

Denmark’s approach involves the creation of a national eFTI Gate that will communicate with both EU-level and domestic systems, using secure authentication tools like MitID/NemLogin. A phased implementation timeline was presented, with the national solution expected to go live by 9 July 2027, in line with the Regulation.

Participants also discussed certification needs for service providers and explored how legal frameworks such as eCMR are expected to align with the Regulation. The Danish Police and legal experts highlighted the importance of ensuring digital documents meet legal standards for traceability and compliance. The meeting concluded with an open invitation for industry actors to join upcoming pilot projects and testing activities, which will play a critical role in shaping Denmark’s digital transition.

The event underlined Denmark’s proactive and collaborative approach to eFTI, with strong emphasis on stakeholder engagement and real-world applicability.
