As the implementation of the eFTI Regulation progresses across Europe, cooperation and knowledge sharing between Member States are becoming increasingly important. To support this process, the eFTI4ALL project recently organised a dedicated workshop bringing together States’ representatives also from the eFTI4EU and eFTI4LIVE. The workshop attracted also from a number of EU Member States outside the three projects, confirming the growing interest in eFTI implementation across Europe.

Participants shared updates on the current status of their national eFTI Gate initiatives, ranging from planning and design activities to development and testing phases. The discussion also focused on the identification and involvement of Competent Authorities, including the challenges of defining responsibilities, understanding specific requirements and addressing areas where roles and expectations are still evolving.

Another important topic concerned the design and deployment of Authority Access Points (AAPs) and User Access Points (UAPs). Member States exchanged views on centralised and decentralised architectures, governance models and potential opportunities for sharing infrastructure between authorities.

The workshop also explored the potential reuse of existing national IT systems, platforms and digital infrastructures. Many participants highlighted the importance of building upon existing investments and capabilities whenever possible, rather than developing entirely new solutions from scratch.

Throughout the discussions, a common message emerged: while implementation approaches may differ from one country to another, the challenges faced by Member States are often similar. Sharing experiences, lessons learned and good practices can help accelerate implementation efforts and promote greater interoperability across Europe.
